Life is full of Change
Education February 17th, 2010After I graduated from college, I needed to find a job. I was hired as an entry level low level management position with Sherwin-Williams Paint Company. This translates as an assistant manager of a branch store location of one of the billions of Sherwin-Williams stores in the world. I found the work challenging and interesting and learned quite a bit from the manager, Jack. I loved that job and really was content having a good secure job. Five years later with promotions and a store manager position at my own store, I began to feel a restlessness that the store manager work could no longer contain.
I decided that I would look into other career opportunities. After an evening out with my friends, I found myself writing a resume that was not exactly going in the direction that I was looking for. The exercise was fun and gave me a new lease on the future and also convinced me to seek help when writing a resume. When confronted with a big change, always seek to explore what you can do but also get help on the thing you can’t do well.
