Circus View from the Trapeze Artist
Education February 17th, 2010The passion for precise skill and the love of beautiful execution of a circus acrobat and trapeze artist is a life that is lost on all young people in the Western world. Besides the back pain and the constant ache in my ankles, the life is a perfect reaction to the depravity and vapidity of life in these times. The books that I have read and the films that depict the circus are really all so much lies and mistruths. The life of a circus acrobat is a life of discipline and regiment. If this basic life is not fulfilled then only tragedy will ensue.
The back pain drives me to a chiropractor and I have found that people who have chosen this profession are very similar to mine in their love for the primacy of the human form. The body is a temple that the modern age has neglected in its over consumption and mindless wasting away in front of a myriad of electronic screens from the TV to the computer to the cell phone. This is all a waste of a life for what? It saddens me to see the loss of the human spirit.
